In recent years, the Philippines has become a major player in one of the largest growing industries of the 21st century, the Outsourcing Industry, specifically in information technology. It has led to the rise of hundreds of call centers, software development companies, and businesses providing engineering design and medical transcription services.

The call center industry began as early as 1992 but had taken its biggest bite in 2003 when Convergys began generating thousands of jobs for Filipinos.

Despite accounting for just 1% of the national labor force, the industry has had the most substantial contribution to economic growth, resulting in the rise of the peso value in the early 2010’s.

This economic payout has given rise to several small- and medium-sized outsourcing ventures in the Philippines, both by locals and foreigners alike. One such story is that of Xilium whose beginnings can be traced back to a small office populated by five people in 2010. Since then, the Philippines has steadily been gathering traction as more and more of the call center industry is recognizing the untapped potential of Filipino work ethic and manpower. Modern technology has allowed for a global customer base and wider expansion possibilities. The main capitals are always technology and manpower, both of which help you stand out above the competition. Xilium looks to make the most out of this opportunity and build a thriving business on its integrity, customer satisfaction, and quality services.

Writing should be one part informative and one part entertaining. It's what differentiates a generic piece of text from a well-written article. Rey Palmares dedicates much of his time to fine-tune that craft, juggling the joys and frustrations of writing with those of his law school life outside of the office. He's making it work so far.
