Xilium is celebrating Women’s Month.
On International Women’s Day, 8 March 2019, Xilium joined the launching of Babaye, Bulahan Ka (Woman, You Are Blessed!): An Art and Photo Exhibit in the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City, Philippines. The event is part of Empower, a set of activities set all throughout March 2019 led by Batch 2018 of the University of San Agustin’s College of Law. With the theme of ‘Love Your Brilliance, Shine Your Light’, the event showcased infographics on the success of women in the Philippines, pamphlets for government services and programs, and artworks and handicrafts for sale from the fund-raising projects of women’s organizations.
Xilium is on of multiple private companies that co-sponsored the event with government agencies such as the Commission on Human Rights, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Public Attorney’s Office. Other private partners from the business sectors and student organizations likewise gave assistance in the form of goods, services, manpower, and financial support in preparation of the event. Empower has since concluded two news station information drives discussing the Philippines’ Magna Carta for Women and an all-girls soccer tournament. Future events include a trade fair, the proceeds of which will go to girls’ orphanages. The second part of Babaye, Bulahan Ka! will launch on 13 March 2019 within the grounds of the Shops at Atria.
Writing should be one part informative and one part entertaining. It's what differentiates a generic piece of text from a well-written article. Rey Palmares dedicates much of his time to fine-tune that craft, juggling the joys and frustrations of writing with those of his law school life outside of the office. He's making it work so far.
