Hospitals have been dealing with hacks for a while. Mostly these have been ransomware that lock up data freezing up the healthcare system that’s been attacked extorting them to get them unlocked. But now there is a purely malicious exposing of patient data. The attacks and the threats continue to grow and we have to assume that it will continue.

Remember to pay attention to your vendors. This is a vulnerability that let’s in or leaks out critical data and access. Take extra care to vet each vendor and develop standards specifically toward security that can be measured and evaluated to help reduce risks.
